Slowwwww....

So my etsy store has been pretty slow lately. But my life hasn't been! I had 4 kids here for a few days (ages 12, 12, 8, and 2). It was super interesting to be sure. I am  pretty sure that I'm a "one and done" kind of girl after that! My poor pets may never recover!

Today I finally launched my Etsy baby line. I'm starting with hats, and I know it's not the season for them, but my line of preemie hats (also here) are always in season. They're also appropriate for American Girl size dolls and other stuffed animals and dolls that have the same size heads. I am going to donate a preemie hat for every one that I sell to the CAMC (Charleston Area Medical Center) NICU (Neonatal Intesnsive Care Unit) where my friend Jessica works. They use them to maintain their body temperatures when the babies are moved from the incubators into cribs.

So stop by and check out what's happening with myself and other Etsy vendors and let me know what you think!

I Fed Somebody

Well, my first "I Fed Somebody" project is up and for sale on Etsy!  I am really thrilled with the way it turned out! And in the first 7 minutes, it already has 10 views! This might be the most popular venture in my store so far! I can't wait to start making donations to CEDEINFA!!

Fourth of July weekend was incredible! My cousin Justin and his girlfriend Mika came to Maryland to visit and we went to Gettysburg one day and then DC on the Fourth.
Nathan and me at the Smithsonian...

The group at the Lincoln Memorial which is where we watched the fireworks!

Abe himself

We had a great time and I would definitely do it again, even though the crowds were nuts!!

Head over and check out my etsy shop!

An (Almost) Instant Success

So last night I received my first potential Etsy order. It was for this bird picture and she wants two. I just have to get her color scheme and find out how big she wants it! So exciting! Since she is my first official customer I think I will include a gift. When I find out the gender of her baby I will decide what that will be. Maybe something from Miss Melly! :)

On the home front, I had a houseful for a couple of days. My parents-in-law, and my sister-in-law Hannah, who is ten (almost eleven) and her best friend Rachel came for an afternoon and stayed over on their way home from Williamsburg. We went to Jo Ann's and bought looms so that I could teach them how to knit on them like I do. Then we rocked out on Rock Band. And finally, I did actually show them how to knit. It was great fun! :)

Today I was given a new loom set as well as a bloom loom by my DH :) Let the adventures begin!

In the beginning...

Well, I've listed 4 items on Etsy.com! Thus far there's a vintage print that I found in an old house and robbed the frame from, but I thought the print was neat and so I saved it. The only problem is that my DH hates it! So, on to Etsy it goes! Another user "favorited" it and I have never been so excited! This is my first official Etsy activity!

There is also a vase, which is very taste-specific, I know, but it's one of my favorite things I've ever made. I have GOT to start making things that fit into my decor scheme! Speaking of which, I also listed a new type of embroidery that I recently discovered, called "punch-needle". I made this little bird for our en suite bathroom, and I plan on making custom ones as they are ordered, in whatever color scheme is chosen by the buyer.

Last but not least, I have a line of clutches, such as this one, which should be displayed in its completion by next week.

I already have over 100 views on my products and I'm so excited! Next, I'll be launching my "Miss Mellie" line, which is named after my niece, Melody, who will be born in October! Stay tuned, I have a surprise listing and tutorial coming up next week. This weekend is yard sale weekend so I'll probably be pretty busy. See you after the weekend!!
